Nora Martyn reflects on the 2007 festival Print E-mail
Written by Nora Martyn
What a rich and sacred experience this Abraham Festival has been! Reconnecting with old friends, making new ones. Being blown away by the range and depth of talent showcased at the Variety Night, and by the joy and generosity of the performers who contributed to it. Having the opportunity to work with the planning team and explore each other's traditions (and being reminded of how much we in the dominant Christian tradition take for granted!)

I found the films particularly enlightening. They opened up for me the lived experience of people struggling with what it means to be faithful, in light of the tradition into which they've been born. It was interesting (but not surprising) to see that each of the three faith traditions has its own spectrum of orthodox/liberal views. I'm cooking forward to next year's Abraham Festival, and hoping more volunteers will discover the treat of taking part in the planning.
